Levels of Certification
Installers achieving CFI Certification must agree to abide by the CFI Pledge and
follow the Manufacturer’s recommendations when installing floorcovering.
It is understood that the Installer who successfully
completes the described category, has demonstrated to the Certifier, the ability
to perform the work as listed below.
**Special
installation techniques required by the manufacturer for designated carpets are
not included in the CFI Certification. All proof of experience forms must
be presented prior to testing.**
RESIDENTIAL I ($145 - Cannot be
tested for without the C I Category. Minimum of $290 to test)
Lightweight,
Base-grade, Tufted carpet – Two Years Experience
Installer possesses ability to
install carpet in track houses, apartments,
and manufactured housing, etc.

MASTER
II -
10 Years Experience
The Master II designation is designed as a
continuing education
CFI Certification.
When successfully completed, the Master II
Certification will signify that
the Installer is current with new requirements
of the installation trade and
is proficient in all segments of carpet
installation. The Master II category
will be listed separately in the
Directory.
The cost of the Master Certification is
$500.00. A $100.00 non-refundable
deposit is due prior to taking the written portion of the test. When
notification
is sent that the written portion has been successfully passed the remaining
$400.00 may be paid in segments or paid in full prior to the date of the
scheduled "hands-on" test.
The Master II test is an intensive test requiring
advanced knowledge and
