Re:    Important Changes in WFCA Trade Scholarship Program Effective January 1, 2007

Since its inception in 1999, the Trade Scholarship Program for Regular WFCA Members has been one of the most popular and widely used benefits of WFCA Membership.

This program is continuing on in 2007 with some exciting changes and new features you should be aware about.

First, what is NOT changing:

      1.  A maximum benefit of up to $500/annually per regular member firm for education and training, on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.

      2.  Applications for scholarship funds must still be received by the WFCA 30-days prior to the event for processing, but not more than 60-days in advance.

      3.  Payments will be made directly to the provider of the service to the credit of the regular member/regular member employee.

      4.  This program is not an entitlement, but an annual budgeted expenditure allocated by the WFCA Board of Directors and the terms can change at any time.  See disclosure statement at bottom for more details.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE PROGRAM ARE AS FOLLOWS:

      1.  In response to member requests, the WFCA is offering a unique series of online training programs for regular member employees, through a special arrangement with Trainingspace.  WFCA regular members can purchase a license for curriculums in Product Knowledge, Business Skills and Retail Sales for $299/license.  The WFCA Trade Scholarship Program will reimburse 100% of the fee up to a total of $500/annually on a first-come, first-served basis until the annual allocation is exhausted.  These licenses sell for $750 elsewhere, but because of a special arrangement with the publisher, the retail versions of these training programs are available to WFCA Members at a greatly reduced rate.  For details on the program, including course descriptions and new course release dates, please visit www.trainingspace.com.

      2.  Because of a special relationship with the International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association (CFI), any educational training, workshops or certification programs performed by CFI will also be eligible for 100% reimbursement through the WFCA Trade Scholarship Program up to $500/regular member or regular member employee on a first-come, first-served basis until the annual allocation is exhausted.

      3.  The WFCA will pay up to 50% of all other educational events and training up to a cap of $500/regular member on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.  For example: event registration is $500, WFCA Trade Scholarship would pay $250, leaving $250 to be applied to another event or another member employee until funds are exhausted.  Another example might be registration is $1,200, then WFCA would pay out a maximum of $500, leaving member to pay $700 balance.  Member would be ineligible under the example above to receive additional funds during that fiscal year.

The WFCA is pleased to offer its regular members this outstanding benefit, unequaled to any other professional association or organization.  We continue to explore ways to assist you in making your businesses more productive and profitable and to advance professionalism in the floor covering industry.  It truly pays to belong to the WFCA, where our members enjoy Success by Association.
